Thanks for the friend request. We do share many books, but more exciting are the ones on your shelves I’m unfamiliar with. “The Sea” is the only book I’ve read by Banville and I have to admit I did not find the plot very compelling. I wonder why he used a pseudonym for the new book?

I just read that you liked "The Sea" by John Banville. Are you aware he's written a new book, Christine Falls, a mystery, under the pseudonym Benjamin Black? I haven't read it, but it received a positive review in The Oregonian newspaper a few weeks back.

Yes, my profile pic is one of my own paintings. Thank you. I like the way you describe your work. I also consider writing an art; words have painted some of the most vivid images in my mind. That's why I love reading so much; I get a lot of inspiration from books.

Looking at your shelf fills me with joyous panic that there is not enough time left in my life to read all the good books that are out there. What is your favorite recommendation?

What kind of art do you do? What kind of art interests you? I am mainly a figuarative painter. My current work is strongly influenced by Marlene Dumas and Kiki Smith.
I have not read Illumination Night yet. It seems that I have a neverending pile of books waiting to be read. Right now I am reading Margaret Atwood's Bodily Harm, not sure what I think of it yet but have really enjoyed some of her other novels.

    Anthony,
Is that your dog? I'm assuming it's a chihuahua, I also have a white chihuahua named Blondie.
