Hi, my name is Eva, and I'm a reading addict/bookaholic/fiction junkie.
I have the bad habit of reading to the point of blocking out all other stimuli and ignoring humanity... I read when I wake up, before I go to sleep, in the shower, in the car, while I'm on the phone or standing in line at the store. It really is an addiction like any other, except for the fact that mine doesn't have severe health repercussions and I certainly wouldn't ever steal from my family or friends to pay for my habit.
"My book addiction is what turned me to a life of crime!" Well... no...
I was lucky enough to be gifted with a Kindle, which makes things a lot cheaper since authors gift Amazon Kindle users with plenty of special sale prices and free books. At this rate, I could probably sign up as a product tester for ebook readers.
Although I will read just about anything and everything, I prefer happy endings... but doesn't everyone? Being the book vacuum that I am, I've stumbled across a lot of authors that barely deserve the term, but an equal amount of brilliant minds that are incredibly talented. I've become enamored with fantasy fiction for it's capability to send my mind on mini vacations away from real life. I've fallen in love with historical fiction for it's ability to take me back in time and make me wish I was born in a different era. I cling to the classics with their clean writing styles, their charisma and way with words that just doesn't seem to be a part of contemporary literature. Unfortunately, ever since my brush with Joan of Arc at the age of 10, I flee from the real life stories. It changes things when it goes from fiction to non-fiction... it's like going from watching a movie, to seeing a real police tape. It's that one degree of separation that my mind clings to.
