I'm twenty-one years old, an Ancient History BA student, and I love reading, photography etc! (Generally anything fun I'll try once!) I like to read romance, because there's just not enough in my life! But there are exceptions to that preference, generally YA paranormal: Harry... more »

    Greetings,

You posted a question asking about Deborah Smith's SWEET HUSH. I'm not familiar with S.A. Allen so I can't provide a comparison. However, Smith is my favorite writer and Sweet Hush is one of her best. (I consider Cross Roads Cafe to be her best.) IMO, Smith is short-changed by being considered a romance writer although her offerings meet all the criteria for that genre. Her work is far deeper and more substantive than most found in that category. I am a dedicated Romance Genre reader so don't assume a negative connotation to that last remark.

Sweet Hush has some great humor and the intensity of the love-interest is at times overwhelming. If you are lookin' for light-and-fluffy, Smith won't give you that. Although each book has light moments and all of them have subtle humor, Smith writes on a deeper level. In fact, the most interesting "relationship" in HUSH, IMO, is that between the heroine and the First Lady. Just LOVED that!

I encourage you to try Sweet Hush if you've not read Smith before. I think it to be the best introduction to her work primarily because of the humor.

    Hope this helps!

I adore Catherine Anderson. Cherish is one of my favorites but hard to pick. Linda Lael Miller writes western romances and family series. She is teriffic. Also Diana Miller in same catagory. If you like time-travel romance read Constance O'Day-Flannery. Thanks for the invite

I've never been to Rome. Off for a few days next month and my sis and I are thinking of heading to Lisbon. I read the first book in the Night Series and loved it. Have the other three to read too. And subsequently reading Kresley presently. LOL No Rest For The Wicked and I think it's quite good so far. Loved A Hunger Like No Other so I went out and bought the next 2 books.
