I'm a native New Orleanian, now living on San Juan Island, off the coast of Washington State. I was educated at LSU and the University of California at Berkeley, finally receiving a Masters degree in architecture in 1975. I specialized in historic preservation, and worked for a Los Angeles area engineering firm until 2004. My husband is the children's author Aaron Shepard.
I have published two novels, "Pacific Avenue" and "Skeeter." Also two nonfiction books, "Smart Soapmaking" and "Milk Soapmaking."
I've written two more novels, "Joy" and "Flight." "Joy" will be published in 2011. I'm not sure about "Flight." I've begun another novel, "Cassie's Castaways," which will probably take a couple of years to finish.
I've also written a nonfiction book to be published in the fall of 2010, "Baking with Cookie Molds."
I'm a co-author of a book about historic preservation and the building code, but I don't know when it will be published. I was also a co-author for a graphic novel, "Robin Hood," published by Stone Arch Books.
