What attracts you to particular books ? Do you write only as a female or do you get inside the head of the male thought patterns also ?

Do you just get into the heads of your audience more than your characters ? I like to try to get into the heads of all my characters. I try to have factual info. in all of my work to some extent so it is more believable.

    Hi Anne!

My name is Michael Walker and I am the proprietor of DREAMWalker Group ... a site that provides free profiles and information to, for, and about creative people (like writers and artists). As such, I created a profile for "Anne Brooke (Writer)" today. The intent of the profiles at DWG is to provide readers with as much information about authors as possible.

If you could check out your profile at http://dreamwalkergroup.com/bio/a/anne_brooke.htm and let me know if it's accurate, I'd sure appreciate it! Also, if you wanted to provide me with a list of your own favorite authors and favorite books, I'd really like to list those as well. Readers love to know this kind of information!

Please consider signing up for my newsletter. Not only will this ensure that my email address is considered by you to be "non spam", but you'll get periodic reports about happenings at DREAMWalker Group. To sign up, just go to the very bottom of your profile screen (or to http://dreamwalkergroup.com) and fill in the sign up for my newsletter box.

We currently have over 3,200 listings and each profile offers the following:

-- contact information (website and email, if desired)
-- a historical listing of published books (current and out-of-print)
-- a historical listing published CDs and tapes (when possible)
-- cross-links to other subject-related books and authors at DREAMWalker Group
-- links from author's book directly to Amazon.com (the money we make, currently about $400 per year, helps pay for the maintenance of this free site.

Thanks for your time and thanks for being so creative. Creativity makes this little old world of ours spin with a whole lot more brilliance.

    Michael Walker
    Proprietor, DREAMWalker Group

p.s. People often ask what they can do to improve their profile and otherwise help support this free site. Here are a few ideas:

    -- Keep creating!

-- Tell all your creative friends and associates about my free site!!

-- If you don't have a web page of your own, consider using your profile at DREAMWalker Group as one for purposes of marketing yourself. After all, it's FREE!

-- Please consider signing up for my newsletter.

-- Create a link from your own homepage to DREAMWalker Group's homepage (http://dreamwalkergroup.com) or to your own profile.

-- Provide me with a list of your own favorite authors and favorite books for inclusion in your profile.

-- Tell me under what related subject headings you'd like your profile listed (e.g. Boating, History, Motivational, Nonfiction, etc.).

-- Suggest to your publishers that they sponsor a small ad on your profile page. These inexpensive ads ($100 for a year) links from your profile page directly to your publisher's website (or wherever they choose!).

-- Buy at least one book a year through my site. If every amazing person listed on my site bought just one item using the Amazon search box on the home page, DREAMWalker Group would earn enough money to keep this free site up and running for about one and a half years!

-- Let us know when your profile needs to be changed (e.g. contact information changes, publish new book, etc.).

-- Mention DREAMWalker Group on Oprah!

    Hi Anne!
Thanks for the friendship request. It seems like we have a lot in common in our tastes in reading and writing. I definitely want to look into A DANGEROUS MAN. I've written about a few of those myself. Look forward to getting to know you better.

James' and my publisher, Zumaya, asked me to do a blurb for "Unrequited" which gave me the chance to read it before release. It should be a winner!

Anne, you have a gorgeous website and I plan to spend more time when I'm not so busy. Is "A Dangerous Man" available in the US yet? What fantasy novels have you written?

    Hello, Anne:
I just received a friend request from you, and am happy to accept it. Noting your interests, I was wondering if you were familiar with a Yahoo group called Gay Writers/Readers. It's a great mix of writers and readers, men and women, straight and gay, with a number of UK members all devoted to discussing and recommending gay-oriented writing and writers. You can check it out at Post message: Gaywritersreaders@yahoogroups.com
    Subscribe: Gaywritersreaders-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

I look forward to learning more about you here on Shelfari.

    Best Regards,

    Dorien

Hi Anne! Gee, it seems like we have kind of the same tastes. I think you'll like my Chronicles of Firma Series. If so, please spread the word. It's doing great here in the US, but my UK sales could use a bit of a push. I'm also working on a Dark Fantasy/Sci-Fi series that I'm sure will be right up your alley. It's called the Starlander series. Look for it next summer (or fall, depending on the muse). I look forward to checking out your work. I read very slowly these days, but I've always got a book ready to grab for those few spare minutes when I'm not writing (or REwriting). Have a great holiday! Hugs, - Patrick

Anne, so nice bumping into you. I'm going to your blog immediately following this note.
May I stretch my arms to the Uk and embrace you in friendship? Metaphorically, that is; otherwise a woman with arms that long would scare the dickens out of anyone.
They say, 'opposites attract.' I write with southern gentility. Being raised in the south primed my imagination. However my next novel will venture into unchartered territory for me. I'm researching for it now. Nothing like a challenge to quell yer thirsty imagination, eh?
I'm going to check out 'A Dangerous Man,' and see the land your imagination goes to.
Are you working on another? Hope so. Those stories stored in yer head need life breathed into'em.
    My blog site is: returningtorockwell.blogspot.com/
I've been out of town for a couple of weeks and my postings fell behind. Anyway,it shows the colors of me heart.
Happy Holidays my new friend. Have yourself a very Merry Christmas!
    God Bless,
    Taylor
