Omnivorous bookworm. Crazy for the stories of John Cheever, plays by Tennessee Williams and the early short stories of Stephen King. Just discovered Borges, so add him to the list (still on a Borges bender)! Partial to science fiction, and anything on time travel. Considers Isaac Asimov the high priest of SF.

hey Annabelle - I think that if they hadn't already used Ian McKellan as Gandolf, he would have made a great Bombodil. He has that bumbly sort of gravitas.

Sam is a sentimental favourite for you, I see. Well done.... :-)
    cheers, Jay

    Hi, Annabelle!
My favourite character was Tom Bombodil, in the first part of the first book of LOTR. I was so bummed when they wrote him out of the movie. He's way better than a horde of orcs!
Who's your favourite character in LOTR?
    best, Jay

speaking of retro SF, have you read any Fritz Leiber? Bit of a forgotten classic writer.

I thought they were great but then again I thought Stranger in a strange land was good. Also could you please email your Mom and Dads phone number so we could call. Tito Andy

Now that is really something, referring to what you said about Edith Hamilton's "Mythology."

I have books on mythology, but I must go and order this now.

Keep me posted on securing a copy of Keeper of Secrets...Translations of an Incident. I definitely want to hear your thoughts.

Have a wonderful day. Meeting and learning about you has certainly blessed mine.

You have a wonderful and enlivening shelf--and a penchant for books that are turned into movies--and a lot of Mary Higgins Clark. Can't say I've read much of her. But I see that you , like me, have a love for Gabriel Garcia Marquez and have read his "Of Love and Other Demons."

Please check out my book shelf and if so inclined, my website. I'd love for you to read my book, "Keeper of Secrets...Translations of an Incident." and hear your thoughts.

Take care. It's good to have you as a friend.

Have a wonderful and BLESSED day.
