Hi Andrea! Glad to see you liked Water for Elephants. What's next? I'm still reading Moby Dick (very slowly in small doses but enjoying it) and just picked up The Shining. I've never read any Stephen King, and I'm a little concerned it'll scare me out of my wits!
Hi Andrea! So glad you liked Snow Flower. I've enjoyed some of Lisa See's other books, too, but i think that one is the best. Water for Elephants was good--I think you'd enjoy it. Did you finish Her Fearful Symmetry? Curious to hear what you thought of it. Want to make sure you've finished it before discussing. Everything is good here. It's been rainy all week--perfect weather for reading, though!
Miss you guys, too! Hope Dave feeling better. xoxo :)
meant to write "some down time for reading." Ah, it's early, even with a cup of coffee!
Hi Andrea! Great talking with you this week. I'll be curious to hear what you think about Her Fearful Symmetry. Definitely a departure from The Time Traveler's Wife. Glad you are finding some sown time for reading amid everything else!
Hi Andrea! I finally finished The Audacity of Hope. I really got into it once I decided to focus on it and not get distracted by all the fiction on my Plan To Read list. I really liked his perspective and his plan for America. The book definitely recalls the sentiments and ideas of his speeches.
Looking forward to seeing you here in St. Pete soon!
Hi Andrea!
I just started reading Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger, who wrote the Time Traveler's Wife. I'll let you know how it is. I hope you're finding time to read amidst all the excitement at home these days. Take care!
Hi Andrea!
I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife and saw that you just read it, too. What did you think? I really liked it--practically flew through it in a few days and I am not usually a fast reader by any stretch. Simply could not put it down. Hope you're doing well and feeling good.
Hi Andrea!
Happy Labor Day! So nice to have the day off:)
I think I am officially on a James Clavell kick. Stayed up late last night to finish Tai-pan, which was one of those really engrossing reads, then immediately had to pick up the next book in the Asian saga. It is 1200 pages, so could take me a while! Then may have to read Noble House--I think I'm hooked. Meanwhile my plan to read list continues to grow--fighting the urge to add 10 books a day to that!
Are you enjoying a good read, too?
Hope you're doing well. Looking forward to seeing you guys in New York!
Hi Andrea! I just wanted to see if you ever read my book? It's getting really good reviews on Amazon, so I'm excited! (A couple are even posted on Shelfari I think.) Here's the link in case you want to check it out again--

Thanks!

Hi Andrea! Glad to see that you enjoyed Wicked. I have Mirror Mirror if you want to read it. It's a re-telling of Snow White. Interesting, but not as good as Wicked. I tried to read Lost, about Scrooge, but couldn't get into it.
Hi Andrea! It was great seeing you. Hope you're enjoying Wicked. I just finished Water for Elephants and really enjoyed it.
Hi Andrea-- what is your novel about? That is so cool. Keep writing!! Mind is only availabe on amazon and at target.com right now, so if you want to check it out there please do.
Please let me know about your book- I am curious!
Maria
Hi Andrea! I just signed up for Shelfari last week to try to get the word out about my novel, and since you've just joined the "chick lit" group I thought I'd drop you a note. My book, “Perfect on Paper,” is about a single woman in San Francisco whose life is hardly perfect. Anyhow, I thought you might want to check it out. I have to start somewhere to get word-of-mouth going outside of my own friends, right? :)
If you decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it- and if you enjoy it, please spread the word b/c grassroots marketing is all I have to get this thing off the ground!
Thanks,
Maria Murnane

Hi Andrea,
Thank you for the recommendation. I'm afraid I don't have the empress books to share with you. Both were from the library. I have been such a library hound recently. However, I can loan you copies of Wicked and Snow Flower and the secret fan:)
Hi Andrea!
How was Don't Let's go to the dogs tonight? I saw it on your favorites shelf and thought it looked interesting. I'd like to read more books set in Africa. Hope you guys are doing well!
I just got home and saw your message. Hope you're having a nice Saturday night!
I just got your note. This is so much fun. I'm getting ideas from your bookshelf, too. It is a rainy day here in St. Pete. Perfect for reading and playing on Shelfari! I think you'll like the Empress Orchid books. How was Empress?
Hey Andrea!
I got your note--this website is so much fun. Mildly addictive is putting it mildly indeed. I read your warning a bit too late. Um--Jack and I are now both online loading our virtual bookshelves and taking turns roaming the house looking for books like junkies seeking a fix. Madness. Can't wait to share ideas with you too.
Beth :)
