Hey, Donna! I have read most of what Deaver has written. He is my favorite mystery/thriller author, especially his Lincoln Rhyme series. This one I just finished was part of a new series about a kinesics expert, Kathryn Dance.

Praying for Sleep sounds familiar but I can't place the storyline. I am pretty sure it is a stand-alone--i.e., not part of a series. There have only been 2 Deavers I disliked. I think one was called Speaking in Tongues.

Just about anything in the Lincoln Rhyme series (starting with The Bone Collector) is a sure bet, as well as a stand-alone called The Blue Nowhere.

Hey Donna! I have been to Shelfari several times recently and checked my notes and it said I had no new notes...and all of a sudden yours shows up now (when it was posted 2 weeks ago). Weird! Anyhow, I'm doing very well. Just got back from Indiana where I attended the graduation of my niece and spent time w/family.

What have you read so far this year that really stood out for you?

WHile I have read quite a few good books so far this year, I think The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman stands out as the best in terms of writing and originality.

I see you are reading Seat of the Soul. I remember reading that years ago when Oprah first introduced Gary Zukav on her show. WOW is that book deep. He is amazing but unfortunately he is not often able to put his concepts into words that most others can understand. Hope you enjoy the book.

Looking forward to Full Dark No Stars in November. The stories sound as good as the one in Twelve Past Midnight (?) can't remember the title. the one with "the Body" and "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption".

I read Duma Key when i first got it. I loved it. I always thought the Stand was the best book i've ever read...until i got Duma Key. The characters were fantastic, especially Wireman.

Hi Donna! Welcome to Shelfari...thanks for the friend request. I look forward to sharing good reads with one another. I find a lot of books by looking at the Shelfari pages of my friends to see what they're reading.
