I need to know if you’re my true friend,
will you be by my side until the end?
Can I tell you my secrets deep,
and trust them in your heart you’ll keep?
We are neither of us without our flaws,
can you accept mine as I will yours?
I’ll be a shoulder to cry on when you’re blue,
will you be there for me when I need you?
No matter how busy I will make time for you,
if you are busy will you make time for me too?
I will take your hand and comfort your tears,
will you hold me and soothe my fears?
I will give you joy and many warm smiles,
can we share that even across many miles?
I will not forget what’s important to you,
will you remember what’s important to me too?
With you my most favourite things I’ll share,
If only I know do you truly care?
If you can accept me as I do you,
then I will know you are a friend most true

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups-porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite -- telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:
'Notice that all the nice looking; expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate we have.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they have.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.. Thank the Lord for your blessings in 2008. And enjoy your hot chocolate!

    I like this message!

“The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they have!”

Yay woot woot. A book you have not read is like a needle in a haystack. LOL Kristin grabbed me as a friend. Thats AWESOME she joined. I am sitting her drinking my coffee in a daze trying to decide my next book to read. Did you join play book tag? If so today we can start reading anything from the 19th century. Grab some of those regency romances. I have a biography on Madame Curie but its gonna be long and a bit dry I think. So I don't want to start it yet. I just got the 2nd Merideth Gentry book and am considering getting into that today. *hugs Jenny

Another one I highly recommend is the "Meredith Gentry" series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Lots of sex. It's about a Faerie princess. The whole faerie society she creates and the dynamics and politics of it are wonderful. She has to create an heir to get the throne to be Queen. Hence all the major sex. Not just with one guy either. She has her choice of like 5 guys on hand at all times. @.@ Anyways, she goes back to the real world and tries to keep up her day job in human society as a kind of P.I.

Well one I highly recommend is the "Black Dagger Brotherhood". The first book is titled "Dark Lover" and its by J.R. Ward. It's vampires but Mostly on Romance and danger....not so much the other stuff. Its a great series. I am so excited to read the next one. The first one really gets you in touch with all the characters. I can't wait to see the others have their own stories.
