Currently I am on a path of seeking to improve my spiritual practices and to learn more about mysticism. Philosophy-wise, I am into phenomenology and... more »

'Crossing the bridge' is a lovely way to put it. I firmly believe that we will meet our loved pets in Heaven, like the dog in the Kipling poem...an Orthodox Bishop we know believes the same thing.

Do you know the Kiplings about 'Four-feet' and Dinah ?

She looks very Siamese; like my two Blue Points.

One of mine died after her kitty three score years & ten, but the other died too young-I still miss her after 4 years. I know what you mean about coming under the covers & kneading. Also coming in with icy feet & getting under my nightdress-aagghh!

Yes, Siamese are indeed 'little lovers'; loyal & loving & utterly enchanting.

No problem about the name! Anyway, I just finished Mrs. Dalloway yesterday. It was a little difficult at first to get into, but after about 40 pages I couldn't put it down. I had seen the movie The Hours a while ago and it was interesting to see how the book was incorporated into the movie (i.e. the character that fell out of the window in the movie was a direct copy of Septimus). I really enjoyed the book and would read it again to get a better feel for her writing and try to read past the words to get to the deeper meaning. What do you suggest I read next? I was thinking The Voyage Out. Let me know! Jerra

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

Have you read anything by Caroline Myss? Her book Energy Anatomy draws correlations between the seven Vedic chakras, the seven Christian sacraments, and the powers of the ten Sefirot of the Kabbalah, which are arranged on seven levels. Fascinating stuff.

I'm glad you are well. You will get to the book when you have time. It's not like the book will change or disappear.

Hello, I am also a member of the Kabballah/Qabalah group. After reading your profile I thought you might like to consider joining the Chassidic Masters and Rebbes group. I just posted Rebbe Nachman's story The Lost Princess for discussion.

Curious to see if you have ever discussed Tarot or Sout Cards as a method of personal transformation or inner communication in psychology.....using the cultural imagery to describe the inner self rather than using them as a tool for divination?

I do! I also use gems, pearls, and swarovskis.. I try to use copper and sterling because I make it to sell, and that seems to sell better :) Plus, I love playing with silver..
