Writing is in my blood. I spent a decade in newsrooms learning the craft - and spending time with law enforcement contacts for research on news stories and fictional short stories and novels. I am now an independent communications consultant, Web producer and published (YAY) author. I'm currently working on two novels, a thriller and a... more »

This follow up to Magic Bites will rock your fantastical world. Kate Daniels is back, and this time she must confront some deadly demons to save the life of a little girl. Plus she's to deal with Curran, the Beast Lord who just may have the hots for her. Smart, witty, with an incredible fantasy edge, this book sets the series apart from other cookie-cutter offerings out there. PopSyndicate.com will feature author Ilona Andrews on the Book Blog in April. Check it out, learn more about the author and get a sneak peak into this exciting second novel in the series.

A fresh take on the paranormal amateur sleuth. The book is authentic, unique, and help my attention until the very last word. It offers up incredible details on crime scene clean up without overwhelming readers, and adds touches of realism to sleuth Sadie Novak's murder investigation through her employee, ex-cop Zack Bowman, who is totally in love with her. The whodunit is not difficult to figure out for veteran suspense readers, but the writing and story are such that it doesn't matter. You are compelled to finish. A mixture of Ghost Whisperer, with a dash of Stephanie Plumb and an excellent mystery, make this a series to watch.

This is one of the BEST fantasy series' to launch in a long, long, time. Kate Daniels kicks butt - and she never lets her rivals know that she's shaking in her boots the whole time. She is smart, funny, and has deep secrets that will likely play a key role in the series. The characters are unique and author Ilona Andrews managed to create a universe all its own, with magic, shapeshifters, ugly vampires, demons, mythical creatures and more.
I reviewed this book for PopSyndicate.com, and plan to feature author Ilona Andrews on our Book Blog in April. I will also give a sneak peak of the second book in the series - Magic Burns - which will totally knock your socks off.

I really like Linda Howard - especially this novel. It was so funny - a lot different than some of her other novels. The tension in the plot and between characters was incredibly well-done. Her earlier works are great - you know, the short ones like White Lies. She's a great author to pair with Jane Ann Krentz and Elizabeth Lowell.
