Wow, just noticed that my arrow apparently rammed right into a brick wall and became a bracket. Amazing is the power of symbols textually thrown around!I await the day that books become a self-contained Ritz affair complete with Liza Minnelli look-a-likes, opera singers who can break glass with their vocal chords alone, and intermissions not decided on by the reader!
I wonder why? There's plenty of movie -] book adaptions, after all. Could it be that all the emotion and power of theatre refuses to be confined by the brittle, unglamourous pages of a book? (O woe! exclaims the tree-hating medium.)
Please do! It's always interesting to see how comics are adapted to film. In fact, I'm tempted to do a panel-by-panel comparison to see if the comic was used as the film's storyboard (yeah, I could look it up, but what would be the fun in that? :) On a semi-related note, is "Wicked" from the Broadway play?
I see you're planning to read "Persepolis" ... have you seen the film? The animation's neat. I've been wondering how the visual style compares to that of the book's.
