That is disappointing; I was looking forward to it. What are you reading now?
How goes Wolf Hall? I'm so looking forward to reading it over Christmas in Italy.
So glad you enjoyed the first of the Larsson trilogy. Hope you find the next two just as worthwhile.
It is an enjoyable read. I will bring it up next time and let you borrow it.
Need to talk about your proposed trip to France and Italy - I want to start looking at accommodation in France. xx
My note below related to what I picked up as a review for Winton's 'Breath' - don; know how, but I thought was yours - must have clicked on a connection without realising. Anyway, it is worth reading. Have finished the Carlyon book - will have to buy you another copy I think as I want to hold on to this. It will end up with markers and tags when I (we?) go to the Western Front next year.
Isn't it a great book? So glad you read and loved it! You write such extensive reviews - I'm always impressed - but how do you find the time? By the way, the Carlyon book is truly wonderful. I need to get my own copy and post tags on it for my trip next year. I thought I knew a bit about the western front - and I did - but reading this is incredibly evocative, whilst still rigorously historical. It's brought forth tears a lot more than once - to say nothing of a fiar bit of anger as well. Mary
I'm interested to find out how your found the Carlyon book - have you read / finished it yet? I need to borrow it from you when you have done so - but want to know your response.
How are you finding the Carlyon book? I saw someone carrying it at the airport yesterday and it reminded me that I want to read it - specially as I am keen to get to the western front next year. Let me know what you think.xx
