Excellent - I will keep Where the River Ends in mind when I'm in the mood for a little romance. Have you dived into Twilight any further? I've heard most people say that the beginning is a little drawn out (even though I loved every second of it!), so stick with it and you'll soon start to see the events unravel. That's when you won't be able to put it down!

Yes, I think that was a lot of my problem. What a shame! The psychological issue was the *least* far-fetched part of the book. All in all, pretty forgettable, so I can't fathom why the reviews are so good!

Yes, I'm sure it will strike a chord with anyone in your age group...or, as in my case, their parents!

I can't really recommend "Lace Reader" after I read it...unless you don't mind stereotypical "bad Christians" picking on "good witches." The mystery was wrapped up too quickly, and other parts of the plot just disappear. Although I'd be interested to see what someone else thought!

The Krakauer book that I absolutely love is "Under the banner of heaven" IF you are interested in a comparison of fundamentalist religious sects, from polygamists to Muslim extremists. The man can sure write.

I wasn't that impressed with Into the Wild. Maybe I’m too old. I know it has a huge following, but I just wanted to shake the kid for being so reckless. It’s one thing to go off on an adventure, but to go without proper experience is suicidal. Many fans of the book consider Chris/Alex a hero, but I thought he was somewhat selfish and immature. Plus Krakauer was forced to do a lot of speculating about Chris/Alex's motives and intentions. Too much conjecture. I preferred, Into Thin Air, Krakauer’s first person account of the Everest disaster.

I've never read Anne Tyler but looks like I should. Which one should I start with?
