"I love to read all kinds of things." I know a lot of people say that, but for me it isn't entirely about the genre or whether a book's about vampires or aliens, demons or dragons. My book choices are rather based on how much I like the author's style of writing and imagination; which often results in the liking of books which I typically wouldn't have considered in my 'reading range'. However, I'm always open to new suggestions and new authors - anything to feed my endless curiosity.
I'm a gigantic fan of the classics and pre-1900's prose and poetry. But currently I find myself enthralled in fantasy novels (the once dorment flame that had been ignited by C.S.Lewis when i was a child was fed some years ago by J.R.R.Tolkien's epics and i've been addicted ever since). But i'd also like to give a 'hats off' to Neil Gaimen, Philip Pullman, Stephenie Meyer, Kate Mosse, Lian Hearn, Christopher Paolini, Robin McKinley, Allison Croggon, Susanne Clarke and my most recently favourite Maggie Stiefvater.
I've always been the 'Maltida' of my family - not that my loving family is any where near as abnoxious as her's. But despite my love of literature and fiction I am actually a medical student (I knows its an odd combination) And I guess I'm sort of a minor poet and writer as well but my presently hectic lifestyle hasn't allowed me to do much writing for my self (though ideas swim endlessly in my head - I always carry a pen and my little green book with me everywhere; just in-case I get a chance to write while I'm on the tube or the bus.)

As of 2011, I have set myself the challenge to read at least 70 in this year, which is about 20 more than I can usually manage in a year. Wish me Good Luck. Below I'll post my progress so far:
