“If you can muddle through the sometimes difficult to enjoy medical jargon, this is an excellent book. The author provides much info about the state of the American maternity system and gives you good reason to rethink ever following dr's orders blindly again. Though at times the author seems to have a vendetta against the obstetrics profession, he backs up everything he says with studies and evidence, making you realize it might be less vendetta and more truth. You will be shocked by some of the information and stories. As your reading, just keep in mind that for all the awful things that happen in a hospital and under a dr's care, not all dr's or hospitals are the same and medical science has saved many, many lives. And I think it important to state that I do not agree with the more political comments of the author, but that doesn't take away from the truth of the rest of the book. All in all a good read and information every women should have.”
