This is a wonderful book , full of birth stories from the eyes of the midwife, Peggy Vincent. A great eye opener, taking away the statistics and showing the reality of homebirth. Some foul language, but a good read nonetheless.

Debbi Pearl can be a little hard on women at times, but the overall message of her book is important for women to know if they want to have a successful, God -centered marriage.

If you can muddle through the sometimes difficult to enjoy medical jargon, this is an excellent book. The author provides much info about the state of the American maternity system and gives you good reason to rethink ever following dr's orders blindly again. Though at times the author seems to have a vendetta against the obstetrics profession, he backs up everything he says with studies and evidence, making you realize it might be less vendetta and more truth. You will be shocked by some of the information and stories. As your reading, just keep in mind that for all the awful things that happen in a hospital and under a dr's care, not all dr's or hospitals are the same and medical science has saved many, many lives. And I think it important to state that I do not agree with the more political comments of the author, but that doesn't take away from the truth of the rest of the book. All in all a good read and information every women should have.

Awesome book! Its a wake up call to women and leaves you with a question of should we just follow mindlessly what the medical world tells us is truth? Or should we seek out information and make decisions that really make sense to us and follow what we know is true?
