A good story, but since I hold 'Liesl and Po' as the standard for its intended audience, I can't go 4 stars. That said, Oliver is seldom a bad read and spins good old-fashioned 'magical adventures' for an underserved demographic. Gotta love that.

Weakest of the series - one-dimensional, an ok ending to the trilogy but not nearly as gripping as its predecessors.

Not as fully realized as 'My Antonia' but hey, Cather's always great.

Stiefvater is really coming into her own - this is her best book to date. Characters, plot and setting are all fully fleshed and I couldn't put it down.

The beginning of this book was so non-engaging, I almost set it aside. I'm glad I kept on - I wound up reading it in one day. The characters are strong and either fully realized or understandably/justifiably mysterious, which is a delicate balance. Can't wait for the next one!

Wonderful book - a few plot holes or it would've been a 5-star. Well-written, original, moving, and more complex than the social agenda(s) it's written about.

Great premise, flat characters, too little intrigue and too few layers for my taste.

Wonderful little book - character driven, philosophical but not heavy-handed. I was completely drawn in.

    Loved it.
Yes, even the slightly overwrought language.

Didn't finish. Turned from enchanting to sordid very quickly.
