“One-note characters were the biggest flaw. I adored the first few sections, I was literally laughing out loud at his wordplay and cleverness. But, as always with Dickens, you then get your fast downward spiral into grinding reality.
I liked the point of the book and a lot of the writing itself, but the characters were flat so I can't love it as much as other Dickens works I've read.
4 stars, because even not-so-great Dickens is leagues ahead of a lot of the other tripe out there.”
