“Berlin: The Downfall is not quite 'Stalingrad', but it has a lot to live up to in Antony Beevor's other works. This book is an excellent historical narrative, giving the facts, figures and experiences in an easy to read, compelling story that you couldn't make up. Recounting the movements of armies and the experiences of individuals Beevor manages to not only tell us what happened, but gives us a sense of what it would be like to have been there. That is invaluable.”
