“Often times we ask ourselves how someone can do this or that. It was in this book that I recognized the inner criminal, dare I say, the inner murderer in me. How simple the act of crime sneaks up on unexpecting individuals, and how easy it is to be swept away by the shear magnitude of what you are doing! How simple it is to fall, to fail, to become the outcast, and loving it is to find someone who loves you in spite of those faults. Dostoyevsky says "To love someone means to see them as God intended them". Ah! Bravo!”

“To be emotionally devastated by a book is perhaps one of the greatest compliments a person can give to the author. I do not believe after reading this book that my life will ever return to its blissful ignorant state of existence. As a woman, this masterpiece taught me how a man loves a woman, and how life, no matter how much we sincerely hope, is seldom a fairy tale. Few books have been written with such passion and direct honesty! Although it has been many years since I last read this tale of love, heartache, and war it's story has been forever seared into my soul. I absolutely love it.”
