    I am sad to experience the efforts required to promote books (paperback and Kindle) because authors like to write and not sell. In the "old days" that's what publishers and bookstores did, but those days (as you well know) are nearly gone. I write because I like to write. I read my own works because I like reading them; friends read them as well and they encourage me to continue writing--maybe that's why they're called friends? Why not start an advertising site (thread) or whatever that just featured "Express Elevator Pitch/Synopsis." For example, fifteen word limits would test the writing and advertising skills of authors and save time as well.

    I just heard that Amazon.com bought GoodReads; that will be nice when (if?) the 'nice' features from that are incorporated into Shelfari. On some of the Admin Group discussion pages it seems like folks that use GoodReads have good things to say about it and typically 'pit' it against Shelfari. (It seems like GoodReads does some things better than Shelfari and some the other way around.)

    Most of the times a computer messes up, you can safely pin the tail on a human (programmer more often than not). Machines are wonderful, if aggravating. I'd like to get the most out of social networking. Thank you for coming to the rescue. Especially thanks for the service you and those like you perform.     When I hit the Join This Group button for Shelfarri Discussions nothing happens. I hit the Join This Group button on another group & it told me I was now a member. I tried to join your group a number of times. I'd like to effectively use the all three platforms - Amazon, Shelfarri, & Facebook. Your forum would be very helpful.

    I would have to say, that as a child, because of my AHD. and other disabilities, reading has been a challenge for me. I love to learn new things, but the patience wasn't there. I am learning that I do enjoy reading, but I still have to do it in sprurts.
