I need some recommendations for contemporary fiction, particularly by other women.     Didactic, but fascinating. It has been a long time since the ending of a book stunned me as much as this one did. I thought it was possible that that kind of joyful experience of reading pleasure might not even happen to me anymore. Considering the dire economic nature and social cruelties of our times, this book is perfect contemporary reading. This book deserves nothing less than a deep resounding YES!
