My name is Abby and I'm on a quest to learn as much as I can about life, myself, and the world. I read all different kinds of books as you can see from my shelf. I am always open to suggestions and often jump from one genre to the next. It's usually whatever tickles my fancy at the time, or the season, or the mood.
Even though I am only 32 years of age, I feel like I am older. In fact I want to be so that I may gain the wisdom of those before me and get out of this awkward stage of who am I? why am I here? As much as I struggle with these questions I find great joy in discovering the answers to them in their own time. I look for symbols, seredipitous incidents that shift my focus and path. Magic is everywhere if you look for it.
I love this web-site as it allows me to share my love of reading with like minded souls. There is never enough minutes in the day to read and my TBR pile never gets smaller...and I love that. I also write all the time, mostly poetry and self discovery type pieces. Beside reading and writing as much as I can I work full time, go to school part-time, and volunteer at an adult education center as a tutor and reading group leader. Most importantly I am the mother of a beautifully intelligent and creative 14 year old who does not like to read. I am not sure what I did wrong there but perhaps in the future it will rub off on her. All is well in my world.
As for friend requests, I don't mind them but you have to write me a quick note first and tell me why you'd like to become friends with me. Did we have common books on our shelves? Do you have a recommendation for me to read? Something like that. I am always up for meeting someone to share thought and ideas. However I don't like the solitious friend requests and will deny them.
