Daniel, I think I shouldn't let him read it then. I never really let him read anything that swears a lot or has very strong sex, but it's so hard to find something that doesn't. I'm not overprotective, you must understand. Even he doesn't like it when a novel glamorizes these things. I was just wondering if there was anything really over-the-head of a 13-year-old, and from what you've said, there is. Violence is something we both try to avoid in books, him more then me. Even though he is quite an avid reader of the adult genre, you can see he doesn't like violence. So thank you for your advice.
Hey, you've read some Haruki Murakami books. Could you please tell me if Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is appropriate for a 13 year old. Is there any explicit language, drugs, sex, or something? Thanks
I love your reviews! They helped me get a good idea of what the book was actually about, versus just plain opinion, without rewriting the story. Thanks.
I have got a few more graphic novels lined up. Clowes, Bilal, Dirge, Miller, Vasquez ... Ah Heaven *Mouth watering stuff*
Nice shelf. Very eclectic. And you write great reviews. Enjoyed reading them. I just finished Vol 1 of Transmetropolitan. I completely agree with your assessment.
as a matter of fact I just posted something about Broken Angels. I've read Altered Carbon and Market Forces. I think he's terrific.
