“This book has really disappointed me. I’ve given one point to it only because I could not give it less than that. Can this novel be by the same author of The shining, the tommyknockers, pet sematary the stand…..... It can’t be! I’ve been a big fan of Stephen King for years but I believe this is one of the worst novels I’ve ever read! I had started reading it years ago but abandoned it unfinished. I found it so boring!!! Few weeks ago I decided to give it another try, thinking it could be boring at the beginning but I felt sure there would be a turning point somewhere in the plot. So I forced myself to finish reading it and when the gunslinger met Jake I thought that was the turning point! But everything in the book soon lost any meaning to me. The narrative got ranting and raving and I started asking myself what ii was all about. What’s the meaning of the last dialogue between the gunslinger and the man in black? Why had Jake to be sacrifices? Shouldn’t the first book of a saga intrigue the reader so much that he could not but read all the books? Well if that was King’s intentions he failed with me because the novel left me with too many doubts which I have no curiosity to clear. I only have the feeling of having wasted my time! And really as a fan of Stephen King to any other fan of Stephen King who would ask me if he / she should read this novel I would highly recommend to read something else! I’m sorry my limited skills in the English language have not allowed me to be more comprehensible but I wanted to add my review to see if there are other readers who have felt the same. But I also I wish so much there could someone out there who would give me good reasons to believe it was all my fault if I haven’t understood how great this book really is!!
Happy reading to everybody
