I read a lot of science fiction, fantasy, horror and supernatural novels and comic books. I like dark comedy and a lot of general fiction, too.

I grew up on a healthy dose of pop lit like Stephen King, Anne Rice, Michael Crichton and Peter Benchley. My uncle got me into the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I was still interested in kids/YA series like Animorphs, Dinotopia, Goosebumps/Fear Street, anything by Jean Craighead George. Also nonfiction on the supernatural, ancient civilizations, dinosaurs, and sea life (especially sharks).

I'm always trying to read more classics and branch out into different genres. Recently I'd been reading Fantasy and Science-fiction novels for reading challenges here on Shelfari. I plan to read more of the non-fiction books I have, and the leatherbound classics I've been collecting from Barnes&Noble.

My favorite novel is still Watership Down by Richard Adams, though The Count of Monte Cristo comes a close second. « less
