Lori I am not sure but I thought I seen somewhere that you read The Girl Who Could Fly, but I could not find it on your shelf anywhere to see if you reviewed that book or how many stars you gave it. We seem to like alot of the same books so if you read it could you let me know what you thought of it?

Hey, just wanted to let you know we picked the Fever series for our next series to read at Vamps, Witches, and Weres & Kick A** Chicks Paranormal/Urban Fantasy Book Club. We are also voting on our Oct BOTM. I hope you'll join us and help us make a decision!

Going Bovine is really good. What do you think of it? The only author I feel like that about is LA Meyer for the Bloody Jack Series. And KM Moning, because she's so friendly and interacts a lot with her fans on her forum.

I think Maggie is very talented. Not to be negative, but I fell Maggie's very best is yet to come. To me she's dancing around the edges of greatness and will soon fall in! I do see growth and that's why I enjoy following her books. One author's writing style I really, really, REALLY don't like is Richelle Mead. What happens to Dimitri is the only thing keeping me following her VA books.

I'm really just chatting, please don't take anything I say personal.

Hey Lori. Do you know of any good stand alone paranormal romance/urban fantasy books with a good story and a bit of steam as well. My friends and I have a 'classics' book club, but we're taking the month off next month to read something a bit 'trashier'. Basically 2 out of 3 of us read loads of paranormal series and we're trying to get the other one (the literature professor who reads literary fiction) to read something a bit different. Almost everything I read is part of a series, so I can't come up with any good options. You seem to have very similar tastes to me, so I thought maybe you'd have some titles in mind.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a good friend who goes every year. The last 4 yrs he has really tried to get me to go. After seeing all the great pics plus the authors who go, I am definitely going next year. There are few shelfari members who are talking about going next year. Maybe we could all get together & have a shelfari night lol

I was thinking of Phedre from the Kushiel series. Or maybe Sidonie's Sun Princess. There are always Amazons & so forth there. I have a while but I wanted to at least utilitize the fact that Halloween is just around the corner lol.. If you think of something that you wouldn't want to do, let me know :)

Hey Lori. I see that you read Four and Twenty Blackbirds by Cherie Priest. What did you think of the story? A coworker asked if I had heard of her, but I hadn't. So when I looked it up, here you are! So let me know what you think. Should I scope these from the library?

    Hi Lori,

You've really done a great job with your blog! It looks great. Every monday I'll be hosting giveaways on my blog. Would you be able to pass the word around? I have so many free books from when I attended the RWA Conference. This monday I'm giving away an autographed copy of Marked. It would make a nice gift for a young adult that hasn't read the series, or really would just like a signed one. Brand new, never read. I certainly don't need it LOL! The other books range from paranormal to erotica.

Hey, finished up the books so I'll get them packaged up for next time I head to the PO. My mom needs some stuff so I'll probably be doing a trip there in a few days. I really enjoyed Carpe Corpus and was glad there wasn't a cliffhanger. I know you didn't read it yet so I won't give any spoilers, but there wasn't a cliffhanger. Finally! It was pretty good so you should read it soon.
I bought Dreamfever today! YAY! So hopefully I'll have a chance to start it tonight. Not sure though. But tomorrow anyway so hopefully in a few days I can discuss! I can't wait!!!!! Oh, and Angela (dukesangel) sent me an email. Not sure if she's contacted anyone else, but I thought I'd let you know that their computer is still broke and they probably won't get it fixed for awhile (maybe around Christmas). I filled her in on what we've been reading and stuff. Told her we miss her of course. Well, time to get the monster to bed before the house turns into a tornado. Oh wait, too late. lol. TTYS!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm always loaning books to my SIL so we can talk about them but she doesn't always love them as much as I do. She did like the Fever series but not as much as I did. I loaned my Sookie books to a friend last week and now I'm so worried about getting them back in one piece. Just while I was there she was letting her kids throw them on the floor. I was picking them up saying "lets not put books on the floor, I really don't want to let them get ruined". HINT HINT! lol. Not sure she got the hint though. I just really hate loaning stuff to that friend cause I either don't get it back or I get it back in horrible condition. I just want to encourage her reading cause she wasn't a reader until she read the Twilight books so now I'm trying to get her to read all these great paranormal ones. It's just hard to get most of them from the library, the wait is too long. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are okay. I hope your books end up back in your hands in the same condition you sent them to me in. I'm very careful, but I was reading a library book last week and the baby reached out and ripped the page out. It happened so fast! I didn't have time to stop it. The book already had water damage so hopefully they won't make me buy it. If something happened like that to your books I would buy a new one for you. I guess it would give me the excuse to have my own copy.

Yeah, maybe JJ Abrams did come up with the Fever series! lol. I know with Lost it's always a puzzle to figure out. I have to discuss it with people just to piece it together, but I love it! I can't wait to read Dreamfever so I can discuss it with you! I'll be posting a discussion on VWW for it and for Destined.

lol. I guess you got the idea I finished by my facebook comments and the discussion, etc on here. I managed to get into Destined (it actually only took like 10 minutes of reading cause it's so good) and I'm totally into it right now. I had a hard time putting it down to go to bed. It's suppose to be super hot today so I have an excuse to not pack much and not work on the house and hopefully I can get a bit read. I'm so glad you loaned me the books though. There's no way I could have bought them and it's always a bit sad when new books come out and everyone is raving about them and I can't read them. I can't wait to get Dreamfever! I'll be a bit behind most, but hopefully I can buy it in the next few days. I don't know what they are going for in the stores but Overstock has them for $14 + $2.75 shipping (that's what it advertises anyway)= $16.75. They might be selling for $17 or so in stores so I'll probably just buy it. Maybe I have a Borders coupon or something.
