I work at a library and I love to read! I mostly enjoy historical fiction but you can tell from my shelves that I like a good variety of books ^_^

Alisa---I recently read a slew of good books (Bee Season, Elegance of the Hedgehog, Olive Kittredge, Cutting for Stone), then a couple of duds which I can't remember the names of--Cathryn says you're reading a couple of good ones--do you have any great suggestions?

Alisa, I just sent a friendship request but I think I forgot to sign my actual name, which is Jan. I like to put my actual name down for friends.

I see you are reading World Without End. Its been on my reading list for a while. I really enjoyed Pillars of the Earth and hope this one is just as good. I'll be interested to hear whether you liked it.

    Hi Alisa,
I've been reading thr Molly Murphy series by Rhys Bowen. They are about a young woman who comes to New York city in the early 1900's and decides to become a Private Investigator. I think that they are fun!
I also finally finished knitting my first pair of socks.

A friend recommended The Heaven Tree Trilogy, and I loved it. She is a 90 yr old avid reader, particularly of historical fiction. I'd love to surprise her with a something she hasn't read. Obviously it would have to be something under the radar, not Sharon Kay Penman, Phillipa Gregory or C J Sansom... Any suggestions?
