Ali Lynn

I've been a big reader since I learned how, but it didn't really go into high gear until I was nine and one of my teachers introduced me the "Goosebumps" series by R.L. Stine. I was a huge fan of all things scary and these led me to bigger (way bigger) things - Stephen King's "It" to be exact. I read anything that intrigues me, and refuse to...more »

Dear Ali Lynn: I would like to suggest a book to you that I think will intrigue you. The title is HUNTING THE KING. I am the author, so I am biased. But your bookshelf would suggest you'd have an interest in HUNTING. The story revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother's death in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother's death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college in Boston. Now an archaeologist, she is recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to know who or what is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As a loyal Catholic, she is scared that what she finds may have devastating consequences for her faith. There is an awesome YouTube book trailer well worth watching to give you an idea of the power of the book. If you get the chance, I hope you'll take the time to watch it and let me know your feelings. Thanks. Peter

Oh. I'll try those (I'll get them when I go to the library next time!) Enid Blyton is really old. Actually, enid blyton isn't the authors real name, it's Mrs. Darally or something (I'm positive it starts from D). She used to write books in the 40's, 50's and all. But all her books are cool.........but for children like 9-12. You're 23, do you have a job, or a bussiness or are you studying right now??

I know that, but if you go to bookstores, it always says 9-12 for the nancy drew books and all. I feel like a baby! But I still love nancy drew and I feel so bored if I don't read one for 2 or 3 days! What are your favorite series?

One Hundred Years of Solitude will probably take you just that - one hundred years to read it. :) It's a long story and the character names are kind of confusing because they remain the same from one generation to another. But, nevertheless, it's an interesting read :)

I'm also a lover of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. Like you, I was also an R.L. Stine fan/reader when I was young.

May I suggest Bittersweet Diary by S. Seward. Great story of will and determination demonstrated by a 6 yr old.

It's okay. Nothing spectacular though to be honest. I was expecting more based on what I had read and heard about it. I recommend checking it out at the library as opposed to buying it though.
