Hello Moon cat,
You are cordially invited to join the Dante Redux group. The plan is to cover the entire Divine Comedy , exploring in detail various aspects of Dante’ s work and its influence on our culture.
It is planned to start up in January. There are no pre-requirements, but there will be a framework to provide some direction (see the tentative syllabus posted).
See the Group Book Shelf, which will be expanded as we proceed (suggestions are welcome).
We hope to learn from each other. Join our exciting pilgrimage.
Welcome Moon Cat, hope you enjoy this group..... As a whole the members here are pretty active in several of the other groups I am in.
We are a fun group, we will have games, challenges & cookbook swaps.
Please, if you have not already done so, take the time to introduce yourself in the "Hello" thread!
No I'm not on BookBub but I'm on Goodreads beside Shelfari. I just like a variety of books and I love the free ones I get for my kindle. I found some good ones that way. You might want to try Stray by Andrea K. Höst which frequently comes up free, it the first in a series. Another I found thru free books is Shelly Laurenston, if you like shifters, hot hot scenes and laughing a lot try one hers. I will admit I've now bought all the rest of her books. Happy reading.
Hello Moon Cat,
Allow me to paint you a picture with words.
You’re awakened a little before six in the morning as a pebble hits your window and then another. The sun is low in the sky as a screech from outside doesn’t sound human, in fact it’s the most unusual sound that you have ever heard, unrecognisable. Another pebble entices you to push the window open and you look down at your friend. “What the heck are you doing?”
“Tell me that you see that!” he says.
“That’s impossible,” you say. “I must be dreaming.”
A huge black and red dragon is beating its wings loudly so that it can hover in place and it looks puzzled by what it’s seeing. “What is this strange place?” said the dragon.
You cannot believe your eyes. “You can talk? Where did you come from?”
“That hole in the sky,” said the dragon matter of fact.
“There’s no--” and then you see it. A large black hole in the blue sky and as you stare at it with your mouth open three more black dragons fly out it, baby dragons fighting with one another, blasting fire balls.
Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published every month it is a little discouraging. I didn’t think there were that many writers. But I continue to write and hope.
You have a nice shelf.
I hope you are reading lots of interesting books.
Knights of the Dragon:
Leander is under siege. It seems their wizard is dying. A dragon befriends a boy and hires knights to save his kingdom. Alexa is a match for any man, except perhaps for Stone; they’ve had eyes for one another for years, though neither will admit it. A dragon is born that turns out to be a wizard, a rare dragon indeed.
And there are whispers of a boy wizard.
It’s a tale of wizards, dragons, romance and knights.
