"We think, sometimes, there's not a dragon left. Not one brave knight, not a single princess gliding through secret forests, enchanting deer and butterflies with her smile.
We think sometimes that ours is an age past frontiers, past adventures. Destiny, it's way over the horizon; glowing shadows galloped past long ago, and gone.

Ha ha! i like the sound of an edgy chick singing with a really strong band behind her... i hate all the pop where you can only here the voice and none of the music! it drives me crazy!!! i am a guitarist but it is really hard to be a lead guitarist AND sing at the same time... hard to beleive since they make it look so effortless on the movies.... I love linkin park... have you heard there newest song; new divide? haven't heard of the other 2 though....
ahhh i don't beleive that lattes are for kiddies! well... i can't say that because i am technically STILL a kiddie! i think green tea but not as much as... ummm i can't think of the kind that i make... well i will tell you some other time.
i think i will check some of the manga out... if they have it at the library.

A jazz singer! i never would have guessed that... and i am serious! did you like it? you recorded??
AHHH! so thats what a cuppa is... i LOVE tea and i like really fancy coffee like lattes and stuff... black coffee gives me stomache aches...
i am reading a tree grows in brooklyn and it has caught me interest... everybody seems to love manga and i have never read it! is it good??

Hey there--sorry I didn't write you back sooner here! been busy--working...blech!

So you are in India, correct? Kiron is a pretty name, with a great meaning! I like it! My husband has one of those voices too--he sound like a woman on the phone, but he uses it to his advantage, sometimes he pretends he's me!

You should feel no pressure on having kids or getting married!! I know it is a cultural thing too, but the world is so different then it was when even our parents were younger, your age--mine are 60's and 70's now, so... but my mom tried to have a baby for 4 years before she had me at 24--married at 20. And my dad was also 8 years older than her! So he was 32 when I was born, quite old for a dad in the 1960's. Nowadays, people here stateside get married and have kids later and later, well into their 40's! And I agree, it is not as safe as doing it in your 20-30's, but there are always those who start real early, just by mistake, or just because they really want children.

There are many families at our church/school with 5 or more children, one friend has 7, very close in age--ranging from high school to toddler. Catholic of course.

Nice having a coffee tea break with you! Hope all is well!

    Your, Kiki

I like ot think of myself as young at heart! And really, 41 isn't so old. Lots of people where we live don't even have their first children until they are in their late 30's and into their 40's. Which I think is crazy, but to each their own! I have a step daughter whose 18, two daughters 12 and almost 14 and a son 8.

I am so lucky I have a quite a few bookish friends that really love to talk about books! I've been in one club for about 12 years! Lots of members have changed, but three of us have stuck with it. My other group is 4 of us, including one of my very best friends, so that is fun too. Both usually meet about once a month. I've been in a third group, but it kind of fell apart, it was more of a social thing for those folks.

Talk here! It's not the same a having a cup of tea with someone, but still, it's communicating!

    Yours, Kiki

My real name is Kathleen, but Kiki is also a real nickname of mine, works good online--short and easy. I have a daughter named Zoë and that is the name of a male character in a JD Salinger book, Franny and Zooey. Go figure! So many names are unisex these days.

Yes, I'm 41. But honestly, I don't feel like I'm "that old". Or wise at all!

Glad to meet another re-reader, most people think I am nuts for re-reading anything--I've read P&P many times myself! And Jane Eyre, and A Room With A View and Amy Tan's novels and quite a few more that I just love to dip back into to. Sometimes I don't do the whole thing either--just comfort myself with parts that I love.

I probably never would jave picked Wuthering Heights back up except for the fdact that I am a pretty loyal to my book groups--I'm in 2 currently with some really good friends, and we are pretty serious about actually reading the books, so if I commit, I do it. More fun that way, especially if you hate the book--than you can really trash it!

look forward to the picking! see you soon! kiki

Yeah, my mom was the exact opposite in that sense. She swore I would never learn to like reading because I hated the process of learning to read. But then I picked up a Harry Potter book and my life was never the same. I went from being semi-accepted in my private school to the complete loser in the corner who always reads weird books. lol Those aren't the fondest years of my life. Thank God, when I came to high school I found a bunch of nerds like me. I love the hunky guy and happy ending novels, but I actually prefer the very serious, somewhat fast paced fantasy novels. I just love jumping into a whole new world every time I crack a new cover.

Very true- nothing better than losing yourself in a good book!
sounds like a plan :D I'm revelling in the fact that I have this time to just chill out and read and what not (well kinda.. I'm getting pretty darn bored now, I admit!) before I'm off to Uni in september so no jobs for me :P heh. How old are you (if it's not too cheeky to ask)?
