I read the Art of War many many years ago and really cannot recall much about it other than I found it interesting. John Keegan has written "The Face of Battle: A Study of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme" which I found very well written and vividly portrayed the plight of the soldier at each of the battles he wrote about. I thought it really gave the reader a sense of what it was like.
