I am Amber and I am a total bookworm. Ever since I can remember I have had my nose in a book. I am a busy SAHM and full-time student so I don't get as much time to read when school is in session. I read about 5 books a week when I am in my groove and sometimes just 1 or 2. Reading is my great escape from the world!

    The Ancient One says

    Trees
    By
    Joyce Kilmer

    I think that I shall never see
    A poem lovely as a tree.
    A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
    Against the earth's sweet flowing breasts;
    A tree that looks at God all day,
    A lifts her leafy arms to pray;
    A tree that may in summer wear
    A nest of robins in her hair;
    Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
    Who intimately lives with rain.
    Poems are made by fools like me,
    But only God can make a tree.

    Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I actually can't do a discussion during the day, my two year old no longer takes naps. Just let me know the next night works best for you. I will be praying your little one is healed quickly and you will find your puppy if you haven't already.

    Take care,

    Sorry I'm just now getting back to you, life has been busy! The best nights for me to discuss would probably be Monday or Thursday. We have church on Wednesday nights, and my tv show is on Tuesday (sad I know) Sunday night would probably work too. Just let me know which night you prefer.

    Talk to ya soon

    I just finished The Abduction by Mark Gimenez and I thought it was very good. I see the reviews are all over the place but I liked it. That is unusual because i don't like to read anything about children being hurt or abducted.

    Would anyone be interested using Skype for our book discussion? It's free & we can all chat with each other instantly.
    I was thinking it might be interesting to use a service like Skype or Yahoo Instant Messenger for our book discussion. This way we can all talk instantly without constantly refreshing our browser. Let me know any concerns you might have on the idea. And if like the idea I can go ahead and set up a discussion group contact list. I'll just need your user ID to add you to the contact list.

    We will be discussing Jemima J by Jane Green Monday, June 29th and for those of you who have read Yada Yada Prayer group book one, we will be discussing it Thursday, July 2nd. Let me know if you plan on joining in the discussion!

    Thanks,
    Melody

    I just realized I will be out Wednesday night, July 1st till around 9pm, my youngest sister is in the finals for a local American Idol contest. Would you mind discussing the book after 9 or would you prefer to discuss it during the day? Just let me know. Sorry about that, I didn't realize the final round would be that night. It's pretty exciting for her, if she wins she gets to open up for the Beach Boys!

    June's pick~ Jemima J by Jane Green

    Synopsis:
    ~Jemima Jones is overweight. About one hundred pounds overweight. Treated like a maid by her thin and social-climbing roommates, and lorded over by the beautiful Geraldine (less talented but better paid) at the Kilburn Herald, Jemima finds that her only consolation is food. Add to this her passion for her charming, sexy, and unobtainable colleague Ben, and Jemima knows her life is in need of a serious change. When she meets Brad, an eligible California hunk, over the Internet, she has the perfect opportunity to reinvent herself–as JJ, the slim, beautiful, gym-obsessed glamour girl. But when her long-distance Romeo demands that they meet, she must conquer her food addiction to become the bone-thin model of her e-mails–no small feat.

    With a fast-paced plot that never quits and a surprise ending no reader will see coming, Jemima J is the chronicle of one woman's quest to become the woman she's always wanted to be, learning along the way a host of lessons about attraction, addiction, the meaning of true love, and, ultimately, who she really is.~
