I was reading nothing but scientific journals for the past 10 years but recently gave it up to move to Japan for 3 years. Now, I'm trying to get my hands on anything to keep my mind stimulated. It is rather difficult to check books out of the library so I'd love to get opinions on books before I purchase them.

If you are looking to read something other than chick lit, I would suggest starting with The Farseer Trilogy and then The Tawny Man Trilogy. The 2nd trilogy is an extention of the first one. The author is Robin Hobb.

By the way, so far I've read Annie Freeman's Fabulous Funeral, Everyone Worth Knowing, Mine are Spectacular, Something Blue, Prep, and Revenge of the Middle-Age Woman. I didn't really care for the last 2, but I did enjoy the rest.

Excellent!! Great!! I loved it!!! I just finished reading Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral. I've been thinking about my own funeral for many years, of which I have wanted it to be unconventional anyways and this gave me some ideas. Thanks for sending it to me. I hope I like the rest of them as much as I liked this one.
