THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES is absolutely amazing. It is my favorite series of all time written by a truly talented author. It has many supernatural elements, and though it's a bit mature, it's got some really funny humor and characters that you miss after you finish. I've read it and City of Ashes, and they absolutely captivated me. I'm waiting with bated breath for the third book to be available so I can get it after hours and days and weeks of searching, putting holds on the library copies, and being envious of those who had it. It's a must read if you like any kind of fantasy, and it's the same genre as Stephenie Meyer books, although it' better.

I got a question from you: Should I read City of Bones (Mortal Instruments, the)? I personally found the world created in this book interesting but too predictable. The main character Clary starts strong but as the book progresses she becomes an annoying person that I got sick off. If you want to enjoy your reading and not get angry at the stupidity of characters that do not see what is in front of their noses skip this series. Red-Headed Stepchild can be a nice page turner instead. Or if you into some supernatural abilities in old style world Graceling is great for that.

I definitely enjoyed City of Bones. It took me a 'til about half way through the book to get into it, but it ended leaving you wanting more. I read the second book in the series in less than a week (non-stop excitement) and I am about 1/2 way through the last book, City of Glass. I think if I had to pick my favorites, the 2nd and 3rd book were much better, but you got to read the 1st one to get to those.

Hi, AJ! I received a request to recommend, or not, City of Bones for you. That book is on my TBR list, so I haven't read it yet. Which means I can't either say it should be read or not. It sounds good, and many of my friends on here recommend it, but I don't know whether it is something I will like until I get to it. Sorry! :-)

In my opinion, yes. I've read the three that have been released so far and can't wait to read the forthcoming one.

Hey AJ, I was wondering if Wings by Aprilynne Pike, Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr and Raven by Allison van Diepen were any good? Would you recommend them? I really enjoyed Wicked lovely and Ink exchange so I would really appreciate any suggestions or opinions on the books. Thanks!

Hi AJ! I got an email asking whether I would recommend Greywalker to you, but it only gives me the choice for yes or no. I can't recommend it one way or the other, because I haven't read it yet. It's on my TBR list, but I don't know when I will get to it. I've heard some say it's good, and others not so good. But I always give the first book in a series the benefit of the doubt because they are rarely as good as the ones that follow it, if only because the author is introducing new characters and an entirely new world to the reader. There is a lot of ground to cover, and usually means there is more information than storyline, but it's all needed to get the story off of the ground. Wish I could be more help. :-)
