Thanks, Adrianna. I hope you read my spoiler-free review of Nightshade. There is no erotica in it, and it is interesting how Ms. Hamilton handles the Star Trek universe. It's a fast read, too. It was soon after this she wrote Guilty Pleasures. Do well, work hard. That's what makes life interesting.

October is Banned Book month and I found that Hunger Games No. 3 is on the list in some places. Pretty odd -- I thought the book rather mild and not well-written as compared to the first book.

Hi Adrianna, I leave you also here, on your Shelfari page, the message I've just left you on Goodreads as well. I'll be honored to send you a copy of my novel WHISPERING TIDES, set in beautiful Savannah, Ga and available on Amazon in eBook and paperback as well. And I'll be twice honored to be read by your reading group. Just let me have your complete name, adress ad phone number for sending it trough Amazon parcel service. My novel has been rewardingly reviewed on Goodreads by Chicago novelist Susan Russo Anderson and has been nominated by the 2012 Global eBook Awards of Santa Barbara CA (finalists on July 9th and prize giving on August 18th).
    Take care. Ciao!

I completely respect library due dates but it sucks when you have return something and then wait to get it back... not sure when I'll get Truth & Beauty back but for sure within the next month or so I hope. :) How are you doing?

I'm also still reading it, not sure what Chapter I'm on but I am enjoying it so far. I will definitely comment once I'm finished.

Thanks. I'm enjoying the new Kindle but I keep forgetting to take it with me when I go places where I have an opportunity to read (at lunch, at the hair salon, etc.) so I still keep a paperback book in the car for those occasions. :)

I think I may read his sci-fi book, Human Interface, first. Be sure to "friend" him and follow as a fan on his author pages here at Shelfari and Goodreads. I was telling him maybe a few people on our lists will hopefully get curious and perhaps check out his books. He's on both sites as Jason Rider and Jason Giacchino. There's one Jason Rider who wrote a book called Drive and Survive. That book is not his.

I dunno if you saw my review on Lunch, Amazon or Facebook, but I was a bit underwhelmed...gave it 3 stars. Didn't find it LOL funny like most reviews said it was. Of course, sense of humor is a subjective thing. I did LOL from time to time, but I was lead to believe it was a gut-buster all the way through and I didn't find it so. I found it a little fractured and lacking in a theme or flow.

It is my first book on my new Kindle! I could not figure out how to find the Kindle edition here...every edition said hardback, audio or paperback. I'm enjoying it, but I'm not WILD about it. Reviews had said it was laugh out loud funny and I've chuckled a couple of times but never LOL'd and I'm over halfway through it.

That's fine. I decided to dive into the Go Go Girls of the Apocalypse, a book that MichaelIN recommended at Lunch.com. It's like an adult version of a Douglas Adams book like Hitchhiker's Guide, though the violence is a bit much.
