    I have noticed that with Cussler. Some of his books are really good, and others are kind of slow. I like the Dirk Pitt books as well.

    Well, I really love the Titan series. They are a sure winner in my opinon. I have never read any of the Corp. of Engineers so cannot say there. The Vanguard, Enterprise and Stargazer books are good, but of the three I like the Stargazer books best. Hope this helps some.
