“"Like that rebellious Greek god Prometheus--who stole fire from Zeus and bestowed it upon mankind, Oppie gave us atomic fire. But then, when he tried to control it, when he sought to make us aware of its terrible dangers, the powers-that-be, like Zeus, rose up in anger to punish him."
It looks, to me, like Oppie had failed to, or never cared about, notice all the people around him, their intentions, interests, and relationships, so that he made wrong comments at the perfectly wrong moments.
Nuclear fission (breaking atoms apart) and fusion (melding two atoms into one) reactions need to be seen in a new light, in terms of an alternative source of energy in this age of heightened awareness of climate change. I'm wondering how people will find smart answers to this age-old question.”
