  • Syren
    • Rated 5 stars

Another thrilling Septimus Heap adventure! Syren, though, seems to be a little misnomer, 'cause it takes up only a very small portion of the whole story.

Had a lot of fun reading this enthralling fantasy, flying on a dragon's back with a brownie girl who resembles somebody I know. ^^

No more MBS? How sad! Sop, sop. But then again, there's the little boy, Nick, I guess. May grab his adventure too.

Look how animals behave like humans! Orwell weaves out a story of animals who proclaim independence and then fall into the same trap of setting up rigid organization and layer upon layer of exceptions.

What if Jesus comes to us in the form of a little child who is pure and untainted at heart, just like the little prince.

  • Wisdom, Inc. : 26 Business Virtues That Turn Ordinary People into Extraordinary Leaders
    • Rated 4 stars

Full of snippits of wisdom from business people from all across the globe, but they are still snippits, lacking in a consistent storyline or cohesive message or big idea that can transform your life.

Mouse people are lovely, with their wits and resemblance of human nature, etc. With a keen eye for details, Hermux takes what it needs to be a mastermind of an adventure into the field of sands in the West.

  • American Prometheus

"Like that rebellious Greek god Prometheus--who stole fire from Zeus and bestowed it upon mankind, Oppie gave us atomic fire. But then, when he tried to control it, when he sought to make us aware of its terrible dangers, the powers-that-be, like Zeus, rose up in anger to punish him."

It looks, to me, like Oppie had failed to, or never cared about, notice all the people around him, their intentions, interests, and relationships, so that he made wrong comments at the perfectly wrong moments.

Nuclear fission (breaking atoms apart) and fusion (melding two atoms into one) reactions need to be seen in a new light, in terms of an alternative source of energy in this age of heightened awareness of climate change. I'm wondering how people will find smart answers to this age-old question.

Rule of law, protection of property rights, and free markets are the three key main topics that Greenspan stresses out in this fascinating review of world events and the inner workings of economies behind those events.

  • Outliers

To succeed as the outliers has done so brilliantly, we all need to learn how to leverage all the opportunity and the legacy that have been given to us. At first glance, you may find some things hard to take as an opportunity, but think again. All you need to do is to learn how to see opportunity straight in the eyes. Read this fascinating narrative from the great story-teller of our time!
