  • Day Lincoln Was Shot
    • Rated 5 stars

This remarkable piece of nonfiction reads like a novel with hour-by-hour events leading up to Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theater on April 15, 1865. You see the story unfold by following the event threads of Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth, Mary Surratt, Mary Lincoln, Edwin Stanton, and others. Dialogue is invented based on eye-witness accounts and letters. A truly remarkable and engaging book! I couldn't put it down.
