Just noticed the Willamette Valley reference. I do volunteer work at the Booktique in Lake Oswego. Do you know it? Wonderful source for children's books - most selling about 75 cents.

My gosh, someone's who's read Vardis Fisher. Read something by him many many years ago, can't remember the title, about a couple of little boys in the Idaho wilds who have to live on their own in order to attend school. Their father would bring them food and proceed to eat most of it before he left. Ring any bells?

Hello! I noticed you read Russell Hoban's Turtle Diary. I just checked it out from my library. What did you think?

    Hello unfinished woman,

Love your shelf. I, too, enjoy reading literary criticism and poetry! I'm a lousy speller but I enjoy Scrabble. So glad I saw you logged on and clicked on your profile. Please come by the Poetry group. Would enjoy the opportunity to discuss the art of poetry with you. Peace. ~z
