I don't have a problem with ambiguous endings. I liked it, thought it was a bit heavy handed at times.You might try "The Bestiary", that I just read. Similar vein, but you might like it better. Less of a philosophical meta-joke, more of a quest narrative. It's on my shelf, if you want to look it up.
Hey, Achilles, what did you think of the Life of Pi? I just finished that one a day ago.
Ha! Well, there are some interesting things to look at here in the summer, but none of them is on a Greek beach. I would love to improve my reading skills with a view of the Aegean. (I just sent my final thesis chapter to my advisor today -- now I'll have to see what he wants me to change. But first I'll enjoy some time off.) -- All the best, Steve.
