Abundant Athena

Hi there! I'm Athena and I'm a reader.

I prefer a book over a movie. There's certain books I definitely prefer over certain people. A book a day keeps the insanity away. Although, that motto has not worked for everyone. Writing is better for that, which I do a little bit of, too.

    Hello,

Very interesting shelf - and I can tell you worked on it because most of your books have covers (instead of white letters on blue backround).

    that's all.

All of Tamora Pierce's series are different parts of the same world, so definitely start at the beginning. Alana: The First Adventure. It's the start of the Lioness quartet.

I never knew there were so many moms who love to read until they all started flocking to the group! Where are they all in real life? I know of about two, personally.

Have you tried your library or a local book store to see if they have any book discussion groups?--most do. The only other thing, if you don't have any friends who read, would be to take a leap and place an ad in the paper to see if any like-minded people would respond and want to set up a Book Club with you. I've about given up on the book clubs around here and am pretty much exclusively in online discussion groups--we discuss a book each month in the Moms Who Read...group--hope you'll join us for Love Walked In on August 1!

I was also an avid reader of Batman comics many of which I dont see on shelfari. Comics were a great companion and it did so much good to my language and to my creativity. As a child I used to dream about going to places or living in places shown in the comics. Its indeed sweet memories!!

Yeah I did read a bit of asterix but quite frankly I hated em. To me tintin was totally another level! I guess I just idolized Tintin as a kid!!!
