Has unnecessary details at quite a few places that could have been avoided. But definitely recommended- half way through the book, the scene explodes and makes for a good, thrilling read!

Long, arduous read, but cannot complain- does a good job taking back 500 years during King Henry's reign in Britain.

Its a nice, easy read- one that would get you back to your reading habits. Its set against the backdrop of Mahabharatha, though it has portions that are fictional. It views the epic through the eyes of Draupadi- the Paandava princess.

It seems at places that there is a deliberate attempt to give it a feminine (sexist) touch (the fictional part) and one can easily identify such moments. Overall, an easy read if you wanna re-visit this grand epic- just cut through some of the sexism and you will enjoy.

Much, much, much better than the movie though the movie was also quite well done. For all you who have like the movie and not read the book, wait till you lay your hands on this one- just read it. You might really like it!!

I think its a very good book for its target audience. Anyone watching Manmohan Desai Bollywood movies will quickly identify with the characters- not just in this but quite a few other Archer- books. This is well done and I especially love the last chapter.

No matter how old I get, I will jump at the mention of this book with the same enthusiasm as several years ago. Its so exciting and mind blowing- adventurous, thrilling and hard to keep. I still have my original copy from more than 10-yrs ago!!

My Bible- this is one of the best 2 books I have read till now. Please lemme know if there's anything that can come close to this. Effortlessly written and entwined with the mafia charm along with the Sicilian subtleties by Puzo. Who can forget The Godfather falling on the red rose he was planting with his grandson with those last words- "Life is beautiful."

No Sir, this book is much more beautiful!!

Inspired me to get back to my Economics 101. A true masterpiece from a man who has seen so much from such a seat!! Must-have for both Economics and non-Economics readers who are interested in the issues.
