If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.

I suggest that the only books that influence us are those for which we are ready, and which have gone a little further down our particular path than we have gone... more »

The most imaginative book I have ever read. Fantasy intermingled with politics, like an extra-long early morning dream. Makes you remember your childhood when there was no leap that the mind was not capable of.

It is a very unique book, touched my heartstrings in different ways.
Made me think of life and possibilities, of lost chances, of small joys and big egos.

The book I started reading at 9:00 on a lazy Sunday morning and put down at 3 PM the next day, finished. In between, whether I ate, or tried to catch an hour's nap at night, I kept on holding the book close to me.
A book bringing to fore all our deepest desires, our weaknesses, our compulsion to be nice and conforming, even when we dont believe and dont care.
We love the book because it allows us to be ourselves. We hate it because we are never able to follow it. I doubt if even Ayn Rand could. But inspite of it all, a book that gives us wings to fly, allows us to dare to be ourselves, making selfish the biggest compliment you can give. Cos if everybody is genuinely selfishly true to him/herself, the world would be so much a better place.

Awesome book .. a fitting end to the series (forgetting the epilogue :-) )
The most amazing thing about Harry Potter is the way it has brought so much passion into reading .. discussing plot lines and endless arguments against what the author deems right .. it's like I am living in the era when people stormed the streets to bring back Sherlock Holmes. It is wonderful to see this world-wide craze for a book in this era of tv and short concentration spans.

Wonderful book .. opened my eyes to a country so close-by, yet so far.
How people live with a guilt all their lives sometimes.. for something bad they did, at the same time, not as bad as their relentless guilt makes them feel..

Awesome book .. Amazing way of telling a simple story and making you relate. And of putting you in other people's shoes.
