I hope you have better luck finding it than I did. I checked it out of the library and then searched for months to find it at a used book store. It was almost one of the books that I had to break down and go to Barnes and Noble for. But my persistance paid off and someone had sold it to the used book store that I always go to!

I saw that you had the book "Nefertiti" by Michelle Moran on your to read list. If I were you, I'd read that book as fast as I can. I loved it! She also wrote "The Heretic Queen," which is about Nefertiti's neice. I liked that one a lot as well. I've been waiting to read her latest book, "Cleopatra's Daughter" for several months but I'm waiting to buy it at the used book store, (you know how I am about Barnes and Noble) and they just never have it. I just found out, however, that it is being released in paperback in July and I'll be able to pick it up just about anywhere for relatively cheap. So I'm excited! I went book shopping today and picked up a lot of books to get me through the month of June.

Thank you so much for introducing me to this site by the way! It's so much better than facebook!

Re MIDDLESEX by Jeffrey Eugenidies. This is an extraordinary work of literary fiction covering several generations and taking us from Greece in WW II to current day Detroit Michigan. I think you'd appreciate it.

No problem! Was just talking to my friend before, that I lent the book to. She read nearly all of it in one day, couldnt put it down! So another good review there. Thanks! NZ is pretty awesome, I love living here. Im sure its way different than Texas - but that also seems like a pretty cool place to me. You should come holiday here someday :o) Do let me know what you think of the book when you're done, and thanks for adding me as a friend!

    Hi Abby, You're welcome!
The language is fine actually, it's well written, that kind of thing would irk me too. I guess it would appeal to the same sort of age as the twilight series (kind of a similar type of story too really) I don't know if you've read it? I enjoyed Fallen though and Im 32 (ugh) , so I think you'd be fine!! It's more that the characters are of a younger age (late teen romancey kind of thing) but then they do have depth, so its easier for it to appeal to 'grown ups' if that makes sense!? I just lent it to a friend, so willl be interested to see what she thinks.

Abby, I have changed the name of our group from Theology Forum to Walking With God. I wanted a more loving , caring and sharing group. I would like for us to talk about Christian books that have helped us through good times and bad. I hope you will come visit. Merry Christmas, Doylene
