Due to obvious shortcomings and lack of simplest features on Shelrafi and a few other similar services, I recently set up my own shelf application [araris.aasemoon.com]. Therefore I no longer longer use Shelfari in a serious manner, and log on quite infrequently. I can be reached via my webstie: www.Aasemoon.com
I'm an Electrical Engineer, studying in the field of Robotics, and most of my work and research is done in this field. I have a couple of degrees in computer science related fields [programming and web development], that are my other major fields of interest, as well as what I do as a job these days. I sometimes work as translator, teaching assistant or college instructor.
Some random facts would be..
I speak 6.5 human languages, and a ridiculous number of machine ones. I enjoy fencing, specially in the rare occasions when I don't end up bruising something while practicing. I breathe music, eat books and drink demos. I'm a mix of Persian and Welsh, citizen of Canada and resident of Switzerland. Winner of a few engineering /robotics design competitions and some other shiny things, as well as a few graphic design competitions in the far past, I'm neither quite a "left brained" nor a complete "right brained". I love chocolate and hate coffee. I create things with pens on papers, it's not drawing, it's... something! I recently started practicing Persian calligraphy. Sometimes I repair old watches and clocks, specially mechanical ones, just because I like to.
My Shelfari shelf is my way of creating an organized catalog of my rather huge eBook collection. My favorite ebook reader so far is the Sony Digital Reader, and most of the books on my shelf have been imported from my Sony Reader library. Not all the books on my shelf are necessarily my favorites, or representative of my ideologies in any way. It happens often that I read a book just for the sake of developing an understanding of someone else' ideology.
Please note that due to Shelfari becoming exceedingly spammy [sorry to say] and my extreme lack of time, I often simply cannot respond to notes, messages or connection requests. But you're welcome to keep in touch via the above URIs. Oh and one more thing: If your profile description happens to be written in 3rd person, chances are I'll simply ignore the connection request. =P
