Due to obvious shortcomings and lack of simplest features on Shelrafi and a few other similar services, I recently set up my own shelf application [araris.aasemoon.com]. Therefore I no longer longer use Shelfari in a serious manner, and log on quite infrequently. I can be reached via my webstie: www.Aasemoon.com

Hi there, it's me. So, ebooks huh. Are they all like on a big hard drive or something? Does that mean you have to read from a computer screen most of the time? I finished my book of short stories which was called "Down these Dark Spaceways" and had six stories from 2005 that blended sci-fi with the detective story. I must say, all 6 stories were pretty good. It was edited by Mike Resnick, who, supposedly writes mostly short stories, not too many novels, so you may not have heard from his, but he's supposed to be the cream of the crop when it comes to shorter works, and in this book, I think I liked his story best. Next up for my short story book will be "Eye" by Frank Herbert. Looking forward to this one. I found it used about a year ago in hardback. I've also started the second Cherryh story "Hunter of Worlds" and it's really good also. One of the races, the Iduve, are pretty hardcore and lack sympathy and empathy and are always fighting their predator instincts. They kinda rule over some other races in city sized spaceships. I can't wait to see where this one goes, I got about 180 pages left so maybe 100 today and I will finish tomorrow. Remember, I'm gonna post some Dostoevsky next. "The Double" and "The Gambler". In my copy the stories are together and translated by the supposed best translation of Pevear and Volokhonsky. After that, I havn't decided yet, although I do have about 50 books "on deck", mostly authors of books that I own that I havn't read anything by, like Charles Stross, Robert Reed, Jack McDevitt, John Scalzi, and Vernor Vinge to name a few. Let's see, also Adam Roberts, Suzanna Clarke (Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, I think it's called), Neil Asher, Greg Egan, Ian M. Banks, etc., etc. so it should be fun exploring these new authors. OK, talk to you soon, Bryan.

Hey, it's me. So, I read the Simak book, "The werewolf principle". It was really short, so I finished it in one day. Now I'm reading that C.J. Cherryh omnibus. The first story, "Brothers of Earth", I think, is like her first book ever, so I wasn't expecting too much, but I'm surprised, it's really good. If this is like her at her worst and amateurish, that means all her books are gonna be good. I'm missing two crucial books by her, and what do you know, on March 4th, another omnibus is gonna be realeased, this time with "40,00 in Gehenna", which I've already found and own, and "Merchanter's Luck" which I have never come across, so I'll be very happy cause I'm gonna get it. Then the only Merchanter/Alliance book I'm missing is "Rimrunners". That one will probably be realeased somehow in the future. I hope to finish "Brother's of Earth" today, then I'll read a short story then the other Cherryh story in this omnibus called "Hunter of Worlds", which is supposed to be one of her best stories. What books by Cherryh have you already read? Anyway, your boyfriend got Resident Evil 4. Cool. I hope he likes it, I think you'll have fun with it when you get to Europe. I'm playing Halo 3 these days. It's kinda short, so I'm flying through the game. Luckily it's fun and replayable. I see you've cracked the 12,000 mark. Now I know it's for cataloguing, but how so? Are these like books you've heard of, or are you always doing research for books you may read in the future, or what? Ok for now, talk to you soon, Bryan.
