Its a good book...let your imagination run wild...a really evil villain who also has attained some magical powers...a cold and dangerous monarch who has survived numerous assassination attempts...two young and valiant generals of rival clans who come together at the behest of the monarch to fight against the evil Lord Winterbourne. Add to this a couple of seers, legendary assassin who is feared by all and is called the "Harvester" and political games of power. Gemmell nevers lets you steer away from a character for too long...introduces them back in the story just when you think you wanted to know what's been happening to them. A nicely crafted piece of work if you wanna read a story set in medieval times when people still believed in Wyrds, Seers and Old Magic. :)”
