I don't have time to read many books, so I listen to books on CD when I drive. I am able to get through a lot of books this way.

I haven't read any Clive Cussler books in quite a while. I found this one to be just as enjoyable as Pitt's other books. Cussler's knowledge of the area shows in the descriptions in the book.

I thought that the Scarecrow was something of an idiot in this book. No wonder he doesn't enjoy ruling the Emerald City. The book is not quite as much fun as the first book.

  • The Name of This Book Is Secret

This was a fun book. It kept the kids occupied during a long drive in the car. We would occasionally stop the story to see if they were listening, and would hear "play" from the back seat.

The story concerns two children, and a secret. We don't know the children's names, or where they live, or almost anything else about them. There were at least several incidents which brought laughs or questions from the back seat.

Overall, it is a good read.

We almost listened to this book two times. We checked to see if the kids were listening by pausing it, and waiting for them to say "Play!", which came fairly quickly. They also asked questions about what particular things meant.

The movie is much better than the book. The book is significantly different from the movie, and very much more violent, especially for a children's book. Well, perhaps the world was different in the latter part of the 19th Century.

This was such a fun book we ended up listening to it twice. It's a collection of stories read by the authors. It was fun listening to the kids imagine what was happening.
