I don't have time to read many books, so I listen to books on CD when I drive. I am able to get through a lot of books this way.

Thanks for letting me know the author, I could have looked it up on Amazon but I have little computer time so have to answer emails and other stuff so to look something up may take a small amount of time but....
Did you see the film? I read lots of different genres my favourite being sc-fi/fantasy but I am not limited to them these days.

Hi David. I'm a big fan of audiobooks when driving too. I'm always really frustrated though by the inordinately high prices charged for audio content vs paper content.

The local library's a great help there though. A recent cracker was 'Continental Drifter' by Tim Moore - a 20th Century homage following one of the first 'Grand Tourists' around Europe that inspired me to read a historical account of the originator of the expedition ('Odd Tom Coryate' by R.E. Pritchard).

please take a peek at my shelf. I had a brainy moment and suddenly remembered a LOT of my fav books as a kid and ones my kids liked. I was disappointed to not find a cover for Bruce the Moose and the Loose Tooth book. It was a lot of fun...it had a string tied thru all the pages to his loose tooth! The Boy WHo Fooled the Giant was a great one when I was a kid and my kids loved it. Barney the Beagle is one I still can recite today. I got overwhelmed looking for the right Curious George books...too many listed and the covers don't look right so i could not tell which ones we all read.

How exciting!!!! Congrats! Our granddaughter is 2 years and 7 months old and we are teaching her letters and sounds. We bought her a set of magnet letters and a set of foam letters to play with in the tub. She can recognize 14 capital letters just by playing with her. She understands the concept that the squggles on our pages are letters that tell stories. Her mama and dad and her Grandpa Bill and I read to her every day. Now the new baby is 7 weeks old so the fun starts again. her fav book right now is There's a Monster at the End of This book. She sees us read all the time so i am sure she will grow up with a love of books. She spends 2 nights a week with us and packs her back pack full of great kids books for us to read to her. The state of Tennessee has a program to encourage literacy so she and her baby brother each get a book mailed to them every month. So happy your little guy has reached such a grand milestone!!!!

Forgot to add... have you seen that Terry Brooks added a 6th to his Landover series? i am on the waiting list at the library for this one. I liked the first three, thought the next two were poor and am hoping for good things in number 6.

your shelf reminded me of many books I read but have not listed yet. I got hooked on audio books when I had a three hour a day commute to get to and from work. Now I listen from home. do you get your books from Overdrive through your library? I have dial up but will update my shelf over the weekend. thanks for the reminders!

Saw your shelf. Thought you might want to check out books by Vince Flynn and John Lescroart. I love both these authors and read each new book they put out. I wait for each author to write a new book. Good stories.

Hey David! Alfred here from Manila. Ordinary People remains one of favorite book and film. Yes, I agree that there a few things in the movie that somehow are not given light. It always the case with books that are made into movies. The time, two hours or less, is just not enough to show everything which the book can easily say. I write for television and one time, for the movies. Believe me, its really frustrating. Thanks, David!

That's a great age! Unlimited energy. When I was that age, I remember wondering why I had to take a nap, because I was never tired. As I got older, I thought to myself...I could sure use those naps now!...lol...

Have a great weekend with your family!
