    No - don't do that to the title. That convention indicates a collective work.

    What we recommend (the guidelines haven't yet been updated for this) is to put on the first line of the description section: "Also published as (title2), (title3), ..."
    I'll do that for this one so you can see it.

    Where the new penname is concerned, use that author's most common name (Whether the "new" name or not - just the name by which s/he is most commonly known) as the "primary" and use the other name as a non-primary "author." (Don't forget to indicate the role.)

    If you can't find all the editions you need via searching, you can use the bookids in the search bar or create your own personal community list to serve for your building combination requests. OK?

    Howdy,

    I approved the contributor changes for the 3 "Snooki" books but we need to watch them for a while. I'm finding that including special characters such as quotation marks mess things up. This name violates the guidelines anyway but, frankly, I approved the requests to test out the issue with the special characters.

    Keep an eye on it for sorting purposes and search issues and let me know if you find anything, OK?

    Re your combination request for Bound to Darkness volume 1. I approved it because the content is the same. However, my research shows that the series name is actually "Vampire Turning Trilogy." This mean, as far as I can determine, that the title of the newly combined book should be "Bound to Darkness" and the series name should be "Vampire Turning Trilogy."

    Do you agree? If so, will you be performing the edits necessary to clear this up?

    Just thought I'd let you know that I have rejected your author combine for Carol Culver/Grace Carrol/Carol Grace as pseudonyms are not combined. Hopefully in the future there will be better support in regards to authors with multiple names.

    Hi Ripley,

    Please do not edit books before sending for combine. That is a lot of unnecessary duplicate work, since the combine will actually combine the data of those books: series, author...

    No need even to edit those blank books without title before the combine. If the title is shown in the editions section, we can see that from the page we use to approve combs.

    If there are variations for the title of one same work, the librarian chooses one into which combine all the works (if you know which title is better, you can add a note to the combo, which might help a lot the librarian).

    Once the combo is approved, you can edit the book. In the good times, that might take a few hours or one day, but I'm afraid the comb queue is congested with thousands of titles these days, so I write down the titles of those I send myself, to go back on further editing once they are approved.

    We've been trying to decide about your combination requests for the Guilty Pleasures books (3 requests submitted).

    We don't believe that graphic novels are the same things as comics which is what you have asked be combined. I'm rejecting these on that basis. If you have some evidence that I can see to equate these two varying contents, please point me to it.
